I purchased a 62 Mercury Monterey s-55 2 door H/T . I want to lower it .3' blocks in the rear and heat the coils . Has anyone lowered a 62 Merc. like this and was there any problems with heating the coils . Or any other problems that might pop up ?

    Thanks

Just cut the coils and save yourself the headache of your springs sagging over time and possibly cracking. Nice car, by the way. :)

I cut a coil out of my front springs on my 62 Merc. Looks like you are missing some trim parts.

You don't heat coils. You cut them.

I'm not sure what your money situation is but, jamco has front spring for this car. If it were me, I'd spend the $100-200 for new 3" dropped springs. I think the ride in the long run would be better than 50 year old springs that were cut down.
