It started not long ago... I was really into old VW's and found The Samba. I was never really comfortable with changing the oil and I figured that needed to change. I bought a bus; messed it up, fixed, repeat... I bought a bug; messed it up... I'm sure you know where I'm going. After replacing pistons in a bug I decided it was time to graduate to a real car (I kid, I kid). I bought a 1950 Ford Shoebox with the original 34,000mi V8 flathead. Geez, everything is so much bigger and more expensive than the VW's! But it is so much more fun to me. I've had the car maybe two months and I'm still working out the bugs. It took me a week to realize I just needed a new battery, and I've been replacing my wheel bearings for two weeks.... I refuse to go to a shop and have them do it, but I've also learned there are some thing best left to the pros. My wheel bearing and races welded themselves to the spindle and hub. Have new parts ordered and can't wait to learn how to replace a spindle. This is my first venture into the world of suspensions. So in the next week I'm sure you'll all know me by name. I promise to at least search first!

Welcome from Montana (I lost a bet and relocated here from Seattle) You need to check out Amocat Speed parts if your ever near Puyallup and be sure to mark your August calendar for the Hotrod-a-rama at the Swiss Tavern in Tacoma.
Thanks everyone! Stokesjosh: I didn't do the pinstripes. I bought the car pretty much how you see it. Fell in love and now I'm just trying to fix it up, give it some character, and make it a daily driver. I live downtown and only have a parking garage so it has been interesting to say the least. God, I miss my garage!
