This story is as cool as they come. I am a little bummed to hear he wasn't a fan of Ratfink worshippers. I respected Ed Roth for his craftsmanship and creativity mostly, but the Rat Fink drawings played a M***IVE role in getting me drawing, and it shows through as an influence. Surely he had to realise that played a pretty large role in his popularity......whether he cared about the spotlight or not is a different story. He is still one of my main heroes.

You know what I meant! Maybe his family donated it to the thrift store in the first place when the estate was being settled.

X2. He was cool when I had the chance to talk to him. Saw him again about a year later and he even remembered my name. Not sure what I said for that to happen. Shame that the only memorabilia I have is a "rat's hole" license plate.

Ed influenced a lot of us . His art and cars are timeless. I only met him once but I am glad to have been on this earth at the same time in history with him.

Yes. I spoke with Darryl, who's daughters sent Ed the cards. The personal items belonged to Ed at some point. How they ended up in a safe....who knows. He'd like to get the items, but doesn't expect to.

The only thing that matters,is what HE thinks is right. Obviously he has a different idea of what's right...

Bob maybe you should have Darryl send this young man a PM
regarding these items and maybe offer some type of a perk
like a photo shoot or invite to a bbq or car show ???
    just my thoughts

Ed Roths son used to come into my old job for decals. I think he didn't have the equipment, so he had us do them. It's been about 8 years, I don't really remember all the details.
