So this is my first attempt at completely rewiring a car and I am Down to the last 2 wires in my harness and Frankly I am stumped. Got a 350 Chevy and I have Googled and searched starter wiring diagrams nothing looks like what I have. I am betting the Sol. Engi. Pwr. wire goes on the large post with the battery cable. Then the Ign SW Start wire will go on the SI post closer to the block. Here are some photos so you can see what I am looking at.
It is a rebel Wiring Kit. All the diagrams I have seen show a 3 post starter. Really Needing that extra set of eyes to confirm I am heading the the right direction.
Without knowing exactly what your working on I would agree. The larger red wire looks like a constant positve attached to the large lug with the Battery positive cable. The smaller to the S terminal which should only get hot with the key in crank position. Looks like a 1975 or newer system with electronic ign. and without an I terminal on starter. On the pre 1975 harness there would be another wire for the I terminal on solenoid to p*** full battery voltage to ignition while cranking. I hope this helps. D
Yes it is a 1976 350 with a HEI and she fired right up. Thanks again for the conformation!!! So very much appreciated.
