yesterday on the way home from Freeport, I found another flaw, when the truck is semi-loaded, the braided line that feeds the rear t block hits the bed floor and breaks it right off. Pull over and adjust the porportioning valve closed and drove home w/ front brakes. As you know, Ifn' I was rockin' the single, I'd of been towed home on a flatbed, or worse in an accident.
Even if you run a single res, you could have clamped the line off and still drove home with just front brakes. Glad to hear you weren't hurt or worse, though!
I posted a thread a few minutes ago about finding a replacement dual reservoir MC for my '37 Buick just for reason you cited. The single units will work fine but I like the added security of have the dual set up. If anyone has an idea of a subs***ute dual MC I can use please let me know.
Early corvette seems to be a popular one. On my 1946 pickup I ran a 1977 ford pickup M/C. Manual brake and disc/drum. Worked out great cause I didnt want the booster taking up more space under the floor. Great pedal feel and worked awesome with an adjustable prop valve.
Yea right ... if you coasted to a stop before you hit something or ran out of brake fluid pumping the brakes........ I'm glad you didn't tear up your truck....
Here's to air bags and radial tires. ...I can't believe everything else hasn't burst into flames yet.
