Hi, rewired my truck last winter ,went with American Autowire. Changed to 12 volt. Used GM 1 wire alternator. Wanted to keep stock gages so i put Runtz voltage reducers on fuel, oil pressure, and temp gages. They worked fine for a while and quit. So i put on new reducers and worked again fine for a little while and quit again. So my question is , is there another way to wire them so i can still use the stock gages? I've got after market gages under the dash for now but i want to loose them. Any suggestiions would be great. Thanks , Jim

I forgot to mention the fuel gage is still working. I was wondering if I could use a bigger ceramic voltage reduser and run three feads from that to the gages?

the voltage needs to be regulated, not just reduced.

It sounds like you are getting a voltage spike that's killing the Runtz. I would try powering them with very fine wire, 20 or 22 gauge a couple of ft in length coiled up somewhere out of sight. If it is a spike killing them, fine wire might do the trick. I had the same problem with my 6v electric wiper motor, with ceramic reducer. The motor kept speeding up, faster and faster. Small gauge wire did the trick.
