Who makes a gennie style rear tack strip for an original roadster? Lots of tack strips out there but they're not designed to slip under the notch on a gennie roadster.
My original was so badly "stapled" up that I got one from Wescotts---After some MINOR fitting it worked great---In the notches & the overall body contour!!!!----Don
I used one from WoodArt, and it fit perfect. I bought it aabout 10 years ago, I understand they have changed hands and there service is not a good as it was. Might be worth it to give them a call and see if they can deliver. HemiDeuce.
This guy was a serious ***hole when I tired to order wood in the past. Took a month to find out that the wood wasn't in stock and wouldn't be ready for another month "or so" after my card was already charged, and I was told I'd have it in a week. Then when I called to find out what was up, and I was as polite as can be, I got **** from the dude and he hung up on me. **** Spadaro is a member here and sells wood kits, I'd give him a call first.
Roy Nacewicz enterprises LTD sells beautiful wood parts for early fords, free catalog, call 734-654-9450 if your interested in some quality parts.
I`m also on the market for a Roadster Tack strip . Didn`t those 3 parts come "finger" joined from Ford back in `32 ? ( Aka "comb"-Joint / Box-joint ) Seems like most reproductions come Half-lap joined . Klaz
I've contacted Ray Nacewicz Enterprises and they will have a 100% authentic tack strip for an original 32 roadster available by mid May. Ain't gonna be cheap but it'll be right.
Find a local woodworker. Are you ***uming there are no guys in your area who can mill lumber? Might cost more than a normal car supplier, but if there none available otherwise, see if it can be made locally. If you could find somebody to do the finger jointing, I bet you could handle the rest with a 24 git disc on your pnuematic grinder. Just remember to sneek up on it, as you can't weld the wood back on.
