Ive been looking for an old somethin to drive around town ect. this guy here in town has a 1946 chevy pickup that he says runs and drives but is missing the bed. looks like someone made a plywood one at some time. i know i will have to put some work into it and i can do that but i was just wondering if you guys think its an ok buy. thanks here the link http://wenatchee.craigslist.org/cto/1654135408.html
I agree, although it looks straight, alot of hours ahead. Take cash and get him down on the price.Get it home and get started.....time is wasting! Nice find and show some more pics if you get it.
something to be said for one that will put itself up on the trailer! I would be ok with the asking price.
that's not bad, is it missing the bed or just the wood? The wood isn't too tough to replace and you can get the hardware for not too much money. Here is mine: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=357650
i would be all over that. try to talk him down a little but even at that price i would buy it. good luck
I'd put a $1000 in my pocket and see if it would follow me home. In this economy I couldn't imagine he would turn down 10 $100 bills for that. I've got a '48 F1 that's in better shape than this one and I'm looking forward to get it running just to have a parts hauler and daily driver. Frank
Any way you look at it ,it's a deal but a lot of work also. I have done a few trucks and there easy compaired to cars so I say go for it.
thanks for the advice guys. i think it may be just the wood in the bottom is mising but at a close look it kinda looks like it may be plywood bedsides. i know if will be alot of work im pretty sure its only about 3 miles up the road from here so that jalopy is gonna be driven home if it can. Im a college student so i need a cool car to drive back an forth and this thing deffinately beats the bus.
