I'm in NC and to get my car titled an inspector has to come verify the vin on cars over 35 years old. I have a 1955 Cadillac Series 62 sedan, other web sites say: right frame side bar behind engine support bracket. I've been looking and can't find it. Can anyone send me a picture of the location of better directions on where to look.
    Thanks

I can't believe I didn't get a single response. I figure some one might have something for me. I must have caught the board on an off day.

  3. Cadillac is odd. Serial should be on the engine block, right side, as well as on the frame. I'm sure it's there, but you may need to take it to bare metal with a wire brush to dig it out.

IM 40StudeDude and ask him. I'm sure he can help you. Also you might want to change the title to be a little more specific as to what car your asking about.

  5. Top of the frame , right side, rear of the engine mount. Also on the block, right side front. Went thru this on a 56 last week. Google is your friend. ;)

on my '49 cads, there's one on the top right frame rail about 3ft back from the first one, like under the passenger seat area. sandpaper, mirror and a flashlight. may be the same on a '55.

Thanks for the info. I guess I better get a wire brush and get at it. I got the one off the engine block, just want to match it to the one on the frame.
