Fellow Poorboy Little Greg is having his '64 Falcon painted at his buddies shop - they mainly restore early Mustangs. Greg do some of the prep work to save on labor costs so he asked me to come help him block it out one last time. I was taking a break and prowling through the guy's 'junk pile' - crunched fenders, rusty bumpers, etc. All Mustang stuff so nothing really grabbed me - till I saw this yellow frame peaking out from under crumpled hood. I ask about it and the guy says it's junk and was just taking up room in his shop. I offer to buy it and he gives it to me - free. I've been scouring the local trader papers and C-list looking for one of these for months! It's just a hair under "48 wide and looks to be fairly sturdy. Everything's free and seems to work like it should. I'm gonna clean and adjust it then shoot a little hammertone paint on it.
I'd bend some tin to make sure its strong enough befor investing paint. You may want to fortify it some first.
Put it in the professor's shop : ) I still have room and I'll even pick it up and deliver it to me. -Glad Greg is making progress on the FORD.
Those are great for light gauge panels, just don't try doing heavier gauge than it is rated for. You'll find many uses for it and free is exactly the right price. Congrats on the score. Frank
Yeah, I usually end up saying "No good deed goes unpunished" but this time it paid off. Little Greg even bought my lunch. Tried it today, bent some 18 gage with no problem so it seems plenty sturdy for anything I'll need it for. I am going to lengthen the handles a bit. Now for a bead roller....
