Rochester B carb question

I picked up an auction B carb, pretty sweet, was either NOS or new rebuild with serious shelf dirt. Anyways, it has what looks like a thermostatic choke, where my present model is cable actuated.

Question is, how is it "plumbed"? There is a small tube that comes up from the throttle body into the choke module {supplies vacuum?}. There is another port; Where should it be plumbed to?

 

The other "port" is for the "choke stove" tube. You can get a universal choke stove at any FLAPS. It consists of a metal flange-type part that secures to the exhaust manifold with a large hose clamp. That is the "stove". Coming out of the stove will be an aluminum tube that will run up to the choke of the carby, usually surrounded by some heat-sheilding fabric. The tube brings heated air up to the carby which controls the automatic choke.

If your vehicle is 12 volts I'd convert it to an electric choke. The trick is finding one that goes the right way.

 

You can buy a cable choke for around $10 at Advance Auto and just change it over using your cable.
