Projects *** years later... It's Back on the Road! ***

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ponchobilly, Mar 23, 2010.

  1. A few years ago, me and FRITZ started to redo my drive train. We changed over the rear. It's a Caddy disc brake unit that I got from Rocky ages ago. FRITZ and I pulled out my tired but reliable engine and trans in favor of a TPI & 7004R. We got it close to done, then I hurt my back... and the project sat in the garage for the winter. Then FRITZ moved half way across the country and other distractions kept me from getting it finished, including the big D (no, I don't mean Dallas).

Suddenly, it's been years since I drove the car or even had it running. That is sooooo not my style. Recently I enlisted the help of a local fuel injection savvy hot rodder. He got all the loose ends ****oned up. The result is a running and driving, end to my nightmare. I still have a few bugs to deal with, but I'm happy and most importantly... we're BACK ON THE ROAD!

Car look's real cool. Is that a continental kit peeking up above the deck lid?

Cool ride congrats on getting it back on the road- love the pic with the hood closed

  18. Yeah. You know the song. Sold a perfectly good 56 in the process, too.
The FI is from a Firebird (according to the stampings). Now it's all Pontiac-powered again, except for the rear.
