Knocked down T-bucket chassis ?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HotRodHabit, Mar 23, 2010.

  1. I think it was Total Performance that offered a knocked down, weld-it-yourself T bucket chassis that was shippable by UPS, and pretty darn cheap?. For whatever reason, it looks like they don't sell it anymore.......??

Does anyone know of another compny that offers this type of chassis kit?
    Thanks for any info.....

  2. check ebay.
i seem to remember seeing one.

a harbor freight chop saw and a set of free plans are a good investment too.

Speedway owns Total now. They may carry it.

As I've recently found out, TP went out of business and was bought up by Speedway.

I've bought some misc parts from Ron and he makes some good plasma cut parts.

the frame is about middle ways down..

you might contact Ron and check but i bet he could fix you up with a non-welded kit.. but for the shipping or freight you might as well get the welded frame.

  8. Yea, I've got plans and a chopsaw, but the shit head town I live in doesn't have a decent place to buy steel, and it would just be nice to find a pre cut kit.

  9. Uhh, yea, only one of those sell to the general public, and they gouge the shit out of you, and never have what you need.

Jesus, this is what the hamb is coming to. You ask a legit question, and you get this kind of f'ing stupidity. If you don't have anything real to ad, then why the hell would you take time to reply. I'm sorry I asked.:mad:

Many times I have gone to a local welding shop and had them order the metal. Prices are usually reasonable plus they will often sell you odds and ends cheap.

i have a set of plans on my website, they were donated by the creator (youngster) in the downloads section.. theres also a build up using them included.

you have to register to download them, sites free, its just a free tbucket community site..no spam involved.

  16. Thanks Brucer, I will check it out.

and fellas, I was asking if anyone knew of a pre cut kit, and we have umpteen posts about how I could get stock and use a saw?!? Thank you, Captain Obvious! The convenience of a kit would suit my limited time, and help me avoid the pain in the ass of chasing down steel stock, etc.. I know all to well how to use a saw, and I really don't need a lesson on how to use the yellow pages, either. It seems that too many threads lately get choked by anything but useful information. I'm damn near over it already.

  17. But then you can build another one later. Shipping only gets you one time use. :D

I remember seeing frames for $175.00 on ebay---bet the guy would send it to ya-- maybe even knock off a few bucks if he didnt weld it up. Freight would prob be as much tho. Aint much complicated bout a T bucket frame.

  19. The thing is, a T bucket frame is about the most simple thing out there!?!?! Why waste time looking for a kit when $70 worth of steel, your circular saw and a $7 cutoff blade will have you there already!

  20. Tman, you want me to get up and beat my head against the wall, don't you?

For me, in Lakeland, Florida, buying steel stock means taking a whole damn day that I really don't have to spend on this, hooking up my trailer, going to M & M supply, wrestling no less than the goddamn 20 ft lengths that they sell their stock in(no, they won't cut it), getting it home, setting up my band saw or chop saw, measuring and cutting everything out, cleaning up the mess, unhooking the trailer, etc. Not to mention only needing about 2 ft of the 3" round tube, when they will make me buy 20 ft of it, and I will then have 18 foot that I will never use. And you wonder why I would like to buy one of the $175 kits that Total used to offer?

Bought any steel lately?? If I send you $70.00 plus shipping will you sell me enough steel for a bucket frame? I already have a saw.

  27. So did you ever find a frame? It's been like six weeks since you first posted.
