  1. Great build on an awesome truck. Love the louvered bed cover. What gage metal did you use?

I fully agree that most of these trucks are very poorly built with no attention given to hot rod tradition, stance, or style. But I do have to disagree that we are ruining bodies, the cabs that we use are off big 1.5 ton trucks and are are generally pretty f***ed up. We use them because they are cheap. We have time, just not a whole lot of money to continually build rods for fun, which is what we do. And for the people who say post 34' trucks without fenders arn't period correct are full of shit. My grandfather grew up in southern california drag racing in the late 40's and 50's and said that they would strip the fenders off trucks all the time to lighten them up for racing. Now maybe they didnt look quite like this, and have quite the same attitude, but we don't do anything to them that people weren't doing to coupes in the same era. Trust me if we had the money all we would build would be 32'-34' 3 windows. But what the tradition of hot rodding is really about, is building cars yourself with your buddies with the tools you have and the parts that you can afford that have style and aditude.

I saw the title 36 pickup build. Might be interesting . This sure aint what i expected. YEEHA man this is one awesome well thought out well engineered ride ,you nailed the post 34 look with no fenders , which isnt easy. Just be carefull planning and keeping it compact it works. The interior looks like ther might be enough room too.

incredible truck.... it would be so great to actually see this truck in person to appreciate the fab work up close. i know these trucks are proportion sensative and i have been trying to figure this out to get it right when i start my build... is it bad etaquit to ask what size tires and what wheel base you are running so i can be at least close to having a proportionally correct rod when its on the road?

    thanks shockley

Thanks for posting pics CZ, so many subtle fabbing cues that are going to help me in finishing my 36, the bed work is absolutely gorgeous.

    great looking truck

  16. A true testiment to your fabrication skills, and creativeness, is evident when someone like myself (who dislikes fenderless pickups with a passion), still can appreciate what you are doing, and have done. Great job.

  17. Great truck. Love the stance and the bed.

Got any update photos to share?

  18. great looking truck, i like fenderless and full fendered but i totally depends on how they are built and what was done to them ( fabraciation wise ) ..... really nice work captain zoom.

While most bobbed trucks look cobbled together with mismatched parts and poor construction, your project looks spot on both mechanically and aesthetically.

    Congratulations on an outstanding ride.

Looks good. I can understand what some of the other guys are saying about fenderless trucks, but if you look at the workmanship in what has been done, then good on you. I really appreciate you taking the time to show us the details you have put into the truck so far, and thanks for taking the time to do so.
