i ran a wire from my latch to the fuel door. pull on it when i want in.or you can use remote solenoids.or use a choke cable.

Just used a modern cable remote release on the original latch. I do have a second pull wire just hanging under the trunk floor for external release. From memory the only issue was getting the trunk to pop up to keep it open as we dont have a rubber. I put a small spring onto a pad to pop it open.

1998 Pontiac Bonneville trunk release.Bolt it to the trunk floor so it's latch grabs the inside handle on your trunk, run the wire up to the dash, install a push ****on somewhere under the dash or ashtray and run fused power to the ****on.

  6. I inverted the latch putting the adjustable latch pin on the deck lid and the actual latch on the body panel. It has an electric sylonoid as well as a manual cable back up. One of a very few things I don't have a photos of.

mine doesn't have anything yet. it was gone when i got the car. i'm gonna put a newer trunk latch on the floor, and run a cable to the gas door. just simple.

I have a bungie cord holding mine closed. Might upgrade to black tape to match a lil better.

Any cable operated latch would work, all depends on how high tech you want to go.
