Found these wheels set out for trash a couple weeks ago. ET II's in great shape. Im going to redo them and throw on the front of my sons 63 dodge 330 with a pair of 8 inch steels on the back. Was worried that the center cap screws would be seized but came right out. I love trash day.
LOL will do definately. I was dropping my 3yo off at daycare and spotted them laying there with some other junk...couldnt get backed up fast enough.
It is amazing how some think this is only trash.Nice score.I found some bumpers and front axles in the trash over the years.Last find was a old wooden chest.
One time many years ago a friend of mine and I were out trash picking and we found a 55 chevy hood .Its amazing what people throw out .Ive also found aluminum swimming pools in the trash .Sometimes stuff like this is quick money. I think you did good finding those wheels and whats great you have a use for them .
thats cool, my wife gets pissed at me cus im allways lookin at other people trash, but i have found alot of good ****!
I found an old Army Air Corp footlocker thrown out for trash a couple years ago...FULL of NOS WWII aircraft gauges and other parts. Most still marked with war dept tags! Place where thrown out of had been empty for years and people tossed everything. No telling what else was in there.
My Ranchero had 2 of those when I bought it. I thought that I wouldn't find 2 more without paying a fortune. Well, another guy thought the same thing about the 2 that he had and posted them online for $20. I know that it is not free, but I can relate to the excitement.
Wish they still did the "Big Clean up" a couple times a year here in my area. There was always something to find. Nit sure why they did away with it?? Nice score though!!
Hmmmmmmmm, I have a mate in S. Illinois that was changing two flats, said he turned his back for a second and they were gone........................ Funny thing is, they wee ETIIs as well? Doc.
I used to cruise the big trash day in the spring as much as I could, found a lot of stupid stuff. Radios, toys, an original Ala-Kart model kit, a Model A hood with a ragged scoop cut into it, a Packard script bumper.. missed some 20s wood spoke wheels one year because we went on a family vacation that weekend... one year found a wierd barbie doll sticking out of the top of a box, so I sent it to a girl I knew who collected them, turned out to be some rare one worth stupid money... Another time found three little tool-box sized cases of 45s, all 50s-60s rock and pop... never ceases to amaze me what people think is junk and what people keep.
Great find and proof of the adage "One man's trash is another man's treasure"! If you end up not liking them for some raeson, I'll gladly give ya' twice....no, wait.....um....make that three times, what ya' paid for "em!!!! Mart3406 ===========================
Thats amazing, you would have thought they would of put them on ebay at least, not just left them out for the trash! The only thing you find in the trash over here is rotten fruit and left overs!
I've gotten many of my best vintage parts from street rodders who are trashing vintage parts to "upgrade" to billet parts.
Thats a pretty rad score. You know what they say, ONE MANS TRASH IS ANOTHER MANS SCORE.... or something like that.
damn nice find , i used to work as a garbage man it is truly amazeing what some people throw out i had a chevy guy on one of my routes had a yard full of camaros and chevelles he threw out a perfectly good pair of 67 ss chevelle fenders one time now if anyone should know the value of something like that it shoulda been him youda thought ......oh well the blade on truck crushed them like they werent even there
I found a pair of 71' Challenger front bucket seats that were near mint in the trash last year. Sold them a few days later for $600. I never find anything I can use in the trash though...
Same old story but I was at the metal s**** yard with my brother the other day and saw a early V8 rear in the trunk of an 80`s car to be crushed. And as always they wont sell it once its in the yard. Pisses me off every time.
