So let's say money and time were no object and you could have your pick from any car. What would you build? I am sure some of you already have your dream cars so tell us what they are and why they are your dream car? For me, it would be a 1954 Chevy Bel-Air coupe w/ air ride, 283 V8, turbo 400 trans, finned valve covers and air cleaner, white pleated interior, mild chop, visor, chrome all over, caddy or lancer hubcaps and the teal and white or orange and cream color scheme. If I close my eyes I can picture it in my head. I have always loved the lines of the 49-54 Chev's I actually dream about a lot of cars, but this is the tops for me. What is yours? (oh and I quickly searched and didnt find similar so if it is already out there SORRY)
a couple weeks ago I was in Austin Speed shop...I saw the Zephyr they are building.......omg! That car would be it for me
My dream car was actually a '32 Ford 5 window, but I got a good deal on an unfinished 3 window. At the time, money was no object, so I built the car exactly the way I wanted it. Fenderless, black with a tri-powered sbc. The engine was bright yellow and the interior was white with yellow inserts (to match the engine). After 6 years of constant detailing and cleaning, the dream wore off, so I sold it.
'53 Stude Starlight Coupe w/ 300 ci Ford inline six, in the weeds, Moon discs, Bonneville style street hot rod.
40 Ford Coupe Flat Head Powered, 4 speed manual, maroon Paint, grey interior, subtle body mods, with exhaust cutouts for occasional neighbor disturbance...................

LaSalle, Packard or Muncie ****** White Interior Black Suspension Channeled or not....or a little 16" '40 Ford wheels with Moon Caps all around 7.50 & 6.00 Firestones Hood Top no sides Single push bar out back Sort of like a early to mid 50's drag car that might have pulled double duty at bonneville once or twice. That's just day dreaming though.
well I have dibbs on a 29 roadster complete car.....Me and the owner just have to agree on a price.....That will be my dream build.....Love that year roadster
The one I'm doing,1957 Buick Special 2dr hardtop, air ride suspension, white tuck & roll, Exterior color-Kosmos Red-Black lower, chrome reverse with wide whites,Nailhead trimed out finned valve covers-valley pan. most will happen some others over time & money!!!
Got everything for mine.........just lacking time (and it's running out). I've had a '32 5w for 37 years and it just keeps being shoved back to the end of the line. Lately it's been shouting at me to be done. I have the complete car, full fendered, all steel. I've collected a 1600 mile 435 hp 427 Chevy w/aluminum heads and Holley tri-power, Doug Nash 5spd, ****tershield,Webber clutch/flywheel. The rearend is a new Franklin Quick Change and the front is a 4" dropped axle w/disc brakes covered w/Buick drums. It's got a dash full of curved gl*** SW gauges and there is a vintage Moon tank to mount out front. The top will be chopped a couple of inches (unlike the 4" I first planned before the waistline expanded). Plans are for a black tuck and roll interior and Honduras Maroon paint. The wheels are Halibrand 8" out back and 12 spoke in front. Hope I can finally start in the next year, after the '38 Deluxe and the '64 ElCamino are roadworthy. Frank
good Q. i guess for me time and money were no problem then i would have to go with 37 ford coupe i think that would be the car of all cars for me ...
I always wanted a 36 Ford Sedan Delivery and found one last year. I am in the process now of building it. Good luck on your dream!
I can think of about twenty, but only one is prominent at this point: '51 Styleline Special 2 door. 3' chop, slightly shaved, but with a few things left, just to be quirky (such as the hood bird) Frenched Lucas headlights, 56 Cad front bumper, frenched and inset lake pipes, blitz black with blue metalflake roof and scallops. Interior would be white tuck -n- roll with black piping, burlap sack covers on the door panels, original gray-green blah dash patina (with striping). S-10 frame, bagged, 292, 283 or 327 motor (finned valve covers and tri-power) if it's a V-8. Radirs and wide whites. Going to pick up the raw material in a couploe of hours, too!
Let's see I would keep my 50 Deluxe Coupe and: World Products new 409 w/dual carbs 5 speed trans Vintage A/C bagged to the freakin' dirt Gene Winfield type paint by Justin @ One Shot Kustoms-abalone white pearl top visor and skirts molded in 15" WWW on steelies or Fenton Hawks white tuck-n-roll interior with blue piping custom dash knobs via Ms.Metal custom front end sheetmetal/custom body mods by One Shot custom cutouts that can split between turbo mufflers & lake pipes all show chrome plating vintage coke cooler in trunk painted & striped to match the car GRNS Trophy in the trunk might be nice ...oh dare to dream, I keep planting pennies in the yard-but no money tree has sarted growing yet!!! But at least some if not most of my wish list is obtainable, just gotta sell my kidneys to fund the rest!!!
ahh -46 packard built as 2dr carsontop, streched out rear fenders, only a luckystrike from the ground and a viper v10 engine under the hood. painted gloss black
Well I have my dream truck, my dream muscle car, and i am working on my dream G***er, so some day I want to build one of these from scratch. I want to build the wood forms and bang it out of sheet metal in my back yard
