Hello, I found a really nice 1940 Dodge Business Coupe with the original Flathead 6 and three speed. Anyone on the HAMB have pictures of a hot rodded or custom one they would like to share. Thanks just would like to see what they look like done up.
Crazy, I just 'found' one too. I'm not interested in it, but I won't argue they are pretty killer cars.
use the search function...you can find some mopars from that period modified on here or look at www.p15-d24.com most original stuff there, but also some modified...I bought a '48 club coupè here in Italy, and I'm going to start fix it as soon as possible!!
Which one did you find? I found one near your area. I am just looking for anything old that is runniing and driving so I have a daily when I get back to Canadia in June.
I have a pile o' **** that resembles a '40 Dodge Coupe when ***embled, so I've collected a few pictures off the web. They were never traditionally hot rods, but these days they're pretty cool. I've got a Dakota clip under mine because the frame was cut off a the firewall. I'm still up in the air about the drivetrain. I've got a 440 with a late 50's tri-power intake and 727 for it, but recently I've starting toying around with the idea of a Paxton or McCulloch supercharged slant six with a T5. We'll see.... If you want to check mine out stop by my webpage...
I've got a HUGE soft spot for these things. Dad and I dragged home a 40 Dodge two door when I was 14, 26 years ago and a few years later he got a coupe too. Both cars are Camaro clipped w/ SBC engines billitmobiles. Great memories of working on them and the family roadtrips in them.
I really like 40 Fords but I think I like the 40 dodges just about the same and might have to look for one since one could be picked up cheaper, been looking for a 40 Ford coupe but its not in the budget so I think I am going to look for a Dodge instead.
i've searched for mopar, plymouth and so on, looking for some 48 stuff to get some ideas for mine I found also some nice older cars... as I said in my other post try also to look at p15-d24.com it's mainly for original stuff, but you find also some nice kustoms... Yesterday I started cutting off the sheetmetal that one of the previous owners welded over the cancerous rust of the original floor pans...
You know, the more we talk about how these mopars are cheaper and readily available...the more they are gonna be scooped up...then the prices are gonna skyrocket ! I been putting mine together slowly, but in my searches, im picking up running drivetrains for under $200. Them old flatheads can take a beating, and speed equipment can be got. These Mopars have alot of style once you start digging around at 'em !
Thanks for the pics guys. Still trying to decide between this '40 Buisness Coupe or a '28 Model A. Ughh decisions in life ****.
