My water pump pulley cracked around the bolt pattern and I can not find a replacement! Does any one know of any website that offers that specific pulley? It is the original pulley. My engine is the 235 straight six with all original components. It bolts on to the water pump and the fan mounts on top of it. The belt goes around the pulley to the harmonic balancer and then around the alternator. It's fairly simple, that’s why I’m kind of irritated that I cannot find it at any junkyards in Houston, We have been having great weather here and I can’t even drive my truck. That’s terrible!!!

I have a water pump pulley off my 53 chevy car. I think it had a 235 in it. I'd send it to you for postage, but I don't think that would help you for the weekend. I'd try matching one up at a speed shop.

I have a 235 water pump pulley off a 56 chevy Will that work?

If it was me, Id weld up the cracks and grind them flush till the new one arrive.

NOTE: My water pump pulley has a backing disk between it and the water pump. I wonder if yours is missing and thats why it broke?

Which type of pump? 37-54, or 55-62?

I saw a couple 55-62 ones on Ebay yesterday. There are no repops. Short pump SBC's are 1/2" shorter, so if you were to press the hub down, you could use that too. Or press it down farther yet and use one from a long pump SBC.

The pulley on the 37-54 type pump is pressed on, and considered part of the pump. You would find it easier to just replace the pump. Sometimes they show up on Ebay for cheaper than at the parts stores. Be aware that there are two different belt sizes used, so get the right one for your application.

It measures 7 1/8 by 3 1/2 Here is a pic with the reenforcement disk in front. Funny thing is I have never heard of one cracking before in 40+ years of working on old chevys.
