Found this cheap and I needed a truck a 62 F100 Runs and drives...and sometimes stops. The carb needed a rebuild so I took it to a buddies house, the idle circuit is plugged up, so it is getting a full rebuild. I replaced the master cylinder due to it being full of sludge and used the pressure bleeder from the shop to remove all the old brake fluid. After that I adjusted the star adjusters on each wheel and the brakes where done. I started to clay bar the hood to see what it would look like, turns out the paint still shines underneath. I will be getting rid of those old tires for some wide whites.

I love the hood emblems on these old F100's

Some rust through on the bottom lip of the hood

Just a little bit of front end damage, I think it adds character though

I have no clue why this was done, but they did it all the way around the top of the cab, there is no rust through though.

I have a couple of these hiding at my shop in Oklahoma. I think yours is in better shape than all of mine. Your tailgate looks like it is in wonderful shape. That and the doors are the unibody specific parts.

  3. Cool truck, looks pretty solid....if you don't want those hubcaps, let me know...I'll buy them from you. Seriously.

Thanks, my plans are basically clay bar the hell out of it to bring back the paint and make a wooden push bar for it. I want it to resemble a push truck. That and it will still be used as a truck for hauling trash, gas pumps and the like.

Thanks, I will tell you this, it was scary as hell driving the thing home. I had to two foot drive it to keep it running. It would die when you come to a stop, and the brakes where way out of adjustment. I also found out it has a broken engine mount. Those will be in on Monday. The way I found out the mount was broken is when I put it in drive the engine would torque over to the right pulling the throttle linkage down. This made the Carb go WOT and it dug a nice hole in my driveway.
