I'm sure it's on here, but I'm having a hell of a time finding it.

How do adjust a repo vega steering box? From what I understand some or all of the repo boxes are different from an original vega box, but I'm not sure how to adjust either. The manuals I have have vega in them, but don't touch on this.

Can someone help with this? Maybe have a picture?

    Thanks!

I can't answer your question, but I would give Flaming River a call... they sell em and could tell you what you need to know.

To get play out @ the wheel (ie: how far you turn wheel before the tires turn) there is a nut (I think a 5/8" wrench) that you need to loosen on top of the box that has the stud "slotted".After the nut is loose, keep the wrench on the nut and turn (with a flathead screwdriver) the slotted stud(tightening it, the nut "locks" the stud down). Some things to keep in mind: On Vega boxes (OEM and aftermarket) the sector shaft (that the pitman arm slides on) is a "tapered" splined shaft, and I have not seen a aftermarket pitman arm tapered the same way, they are "straight" splined. This means that the contact area is only at the top not continuous and will not seat properly, so check your parts. Also,( I'm sure you have already done this) inspect all your drag links, steering arms, etc, maybe have someone turn the wheel while you examine them (to see if there loose). Hope this helps.
