New Find's In Field's & Barn's or ?

I wanted to share my latest find's & didn't find a thread for it,
So I thought I'd start one.

My latest find's are pretty uncommon,in fact just plain rare!
My day started with a phone call from a good friend,
early Friday morn.3-26-10
He said he was calling me to tell me about 2 Model A's he knew about.
After getting the # from him,I called it.An elderly lady answerd,
I asked if she had model a part's for sale, she said I'd have to talk to her husband.
Her husband answerd, I asked again about some model a part's.
He said he didn't have any model a parts for sale but,
had 2 model a cars for sale!!I was alittle suprised to say the least.
I then asked what he wanted for them,his answer....500 each !!!
I knew this was a score, as just about any model a shell was worth 500 buck's
& he said he had 2 cars !
So I got his address.
My daughter & I jumped in the truck & headed to his place.
Upon arriving we were greeted by an elderly man & led to his back yard.
I was shocked! it was incredible!Right there in front of me I see a 28 Roadster Pickup!!!
Yes that's right a real 28 roadster pickup,& right behind it a 30 model a coupe !!!!
Yep both of these cars same place,same price 500 each!
Needless to say we made the deal, I paid him, & me & Emily flew back to the shop
& picked up the trailer & headed back to get our new iron.
He was pretty helpful, with all the rain we've been having,
if I would have tried to go in his field I would have got stuck for sure,
& there was NO WAY I was leaving these car's sit another day,
so he kindly fired up his old John Deere & pulled them out to the road for us!
Talk about Cool!! I was relieved for sure as I cant stand for a deal like this not to be at my shop ASAP!
Well to sum it up I now have added to my collection these 2 car's.
My daughter Emily is already claiming the 28 as her's for helping me load the car's,smart 13 yr old kid !
Both are complete & original, needing total resto's,but they are decent & complete.
The 30 coupe is alittle ruff so it maybe a rat or ?
The 28 is pretty sweet!
I'll post some pic's of them soon!
& by the way,these car's were able to be seen from the road....
if you only looked alittle bit!!
& they were in my county not far from my shop!
so keep your eye's open & dont think for a moment it cant happen for you
cause it can!!!!
just keep on looking.... & tell us what you find!

Quicktrip; Thanks for taking the time to relate.
I found my Model A kind of like that. Well, not really, it actually found me I think. Or, my guardian angel had something to do with it. I've always wanted a Model A but never actively searched for one. So, by happenstance, a friend of mine asked me one day if I wanted "that model A chassis out there behind my shed". Ha. I looked, I bartered, I recieved. Now I'm waiting patiently until a body presents itself. And a motor. And a title.

 

here lets try it like this. i get a call from a friend. He thinks he knows where this car is. We go see. The guy says " if you can get it out you can have it." I run home and grab my gas powered hedge trimmer and get after it. 20 mins later were draggin it out.

I'm having such a great laugh at all the comment's!

I'll try & post the pics right now.
It was late....or early this morn when I posted the thread,
man I was tired & didnt want to try & shrink pics till 3-4 in the morn.
I'm a car guy,not a computer wiz!
I kinda figuered I'd get a little responce but ya'll suprised me when I logged in
& seen the thread was already 2 pages,
I just did a preview on this reply & as you see I was able to load a pic.
I'll continue to load more pics,of both car's.
This pic is what I seen coming in the back yard!
Now you see why I almost fell over!
I still feel the rush I got on Friday when I 1st seen these,absolutely incredible!
Yes I know,this score is any car guy's dream come true!
And there still more out there ! keep your eyes open !
Now if I can pry Emily off the 28,she really dig's it!

holy shit! Okay look, to help you rectify the situation, hows about you sell me one for 750, so you make a little profit, and then the world will be fixed and every thing will be right.

This is a pic of the 28 at my place,we just rolled it off the trailer.
As you can tell it has sat for some time,but still roll's freely.
I oiled & opened the hood,checked the motor....
it turned with very little effort,probably still run's.
I figure about 200.0 buck's worth of metal patch panel's
& this puppy will be in pretty good shape again.
The man & woman said they used to drive it in parades & it was just parked....hummmm,run's ?
Emily has already called dibb's on it!
We'll see !
