Ford Granada/Mercury Monarch spindle's do work. You have to have the top hole retapered. There's a guy who advertises in Rod & Custom called DC Enterprises that does the conversions, www.dropnstop.com

Take a look at Fat Man Fabrications. I think they list thier spindles as a three inch drop. You have to convert to disc brakes too, I think thier setup is Granada based.

  8. Its the bottom hole that actually needs reamed out. And on my 56 I did the granada spindles and a 1 inch lowering blocks under the spring plate on the lower control arms. There might be a pic in the album on my info page.

Swapping to '89 Ford Aerostar 2WD front coils $60 a pair at Autozone will give you a 2 1/2"-3" drop and improve the ride and handling and you keep your stock spindles. There are before and after pics in the HAMB archives and the 52-56 Ford social group.

  11. my bud got alot of stuff from dropnstop. they are good quality parts

  12. I will look into this also, Maybe then I could ditch my lowering plates. Thanks for the heads up

x2 on what JeffB2 said, we just put a set of aerostar coils in my buddies Edsel (same ch***is) and man what a difference! The car looks AND rides better, how do you beat that for $60? Sorry I should have mentioned them sooner!

I created a login account right after reading this thread. I'm going to buy the springs this week and should have them on by the weekend.
