should the vin for a 1953 chevy pu have "53" in it anywhere like some of the other years and models? I just bought a truck and the ***le doesn't have 53 in the vin.

I know the cab is a 48 so there's no tellin what has been mixed up over the years. I would rather find an older ***le someone would trade me for the 53 so the body matches the year on the ***le.

I was told that for my 53 chevy the vin was with the engine I did not get an engine and had to change the vin to the one on the cab. ED

that makes more sense as the cab is a 50 style cab not a 53. i wonder if the state would adjust the ***le to 1950.
