New to the H.A.M.B. Great site for info! Would like to introduce myself. I have been racing dragsters since the seventies from front engine to top alcohol dragsters. I purchased a jig table and bender from a local ch***is builder HAULIN CH***IS of haverhill ma. He built cars in the sixties and early seventies.Since then I have built four RED,one funny car and working on a FED for a customer with one more waiting. The table is very adjustable for what ever size, length, width car you want.I will try to post some pic's of new car on the old HAULIN CH***IS table. I will post more shots in the future of progress.Thank you for your time. BRUCE WARNKE (HAULIN CH***IS)
Welcome from Maryland. Like the others, even old pics are enjoyed here. Thanks for joining...............
Bruce, Welcome aboard... I am a big fan of New England drag racing history. I got to meet Maurice Breshnihan, last year at New England Dragway. I hope you can share some photos and stories from Haulin Ch***is. By the way, I crewed on a B/D dragster in the early seventies that had a Haulin Ch***is. The car was 210" long and had a unique front end that did not have radius rods, just a single locating arm. The car still exist, I spotted the rolling ch***is at the first NHRR in Bowling Green, KY., never saw it again after that.
Greetings from Pennsylvania! We are currently restoring a Haulin Ch***is FED.Throttle pedal is cast aluminum and is embossed "HAULIN CH***IS". Parachute that came with the car is a"CARTER'S DRAG CHUTE" from Carlsbad, california, with a date code of 2-66. This car has a chute pack body. Body color was blue with a black naugahyde rolled and pleated full-****pit insert. I have found a picture of what I believe is this same car at Oxford, Maine dragstrip in 1970. Picture was on the Northeast Drag Racing website under Oxford Dragway. Car had sat in a guys driveway for a couple of years, under a tarp, and was starting to deteriorate. The front section of the car from firewall forward was pretty-well shot. It was bent up and worn thin on the bottom of the rails. We built a jig and are currently front-halfing the car. Our jig looks remarkedly like the the original one in the picture. We are using a sbc/glide combo. This car has a two-main bar cage over the ****pit. Any info that anyone can provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Lou 724.366.3003
