My wife picked this horn up for me at the local antiques place. She also got me a killer 1950 NJ commercial license plate. She's a good'un! So what's it from?
I believe it's a stock horn for a 216"-era Chevy. My '37 Chevy had a near identical horn on it. It bolted to a boss on the intake manifold. My guess would be '37-'64 Chevy (not sure how long Chevy used the intake mounting).
I agree with TagMan (his signature) and would like to also thow in the fact that is from a automobile of sorts. hahaha
Clean the dirt off the back and see if there is a name present. Some measurements will help us ID. Spark the wires on a 12V battery and if it says OOOOOOOOGAAAHH might be Model A!!! I need it if you don't.
It's not a horn. It's a very rare 'factory accessory', electric "Micro-supercharger' for a '36 Henway " 'Flaming Polecat' Super-Double-Deluxe Phaeton"!!! It worked on an early version of quantum mechanics "string theory", combined with basic antediluvian metaphysics, using sound waves to thermo-******icly exite the air and fuel molecules in the intake tract, causing a slight, but definite 'pseudo-supercharging' effect. You can easily verify that you do indeed posses one of these rare 'genuine accessory' Henway units by simply hooking the wires up to the terminals on a standard 6V or 12V car battery..if there's a sudden, loud blast of noise with a distinctive "Ahhhooogah" sound, then for sure it's a rare and valuable Henway 'Micro-Supercharger"!!!!
