thought i would post some pics of my 30 coupe body i bought, it was on the spokane craigslist for a while and i got it for $750 and it had about $400 worth of new patch p****s that came with it, a extra cowl and some other stuff. i couldnt p*** it up for the price. i have been looking for one for a while and that was the best deal i could find. thought i would show it off.
Hey that doesn't look too bad. I paid $1000 for mine, but it came with a frame. At least you got 2 doors, even though it looks like you're missing the tops. Did you get a trunk lid? Those are tough to come by. I searched for a while before I found my p***enger door also, finally got that for $150. Looks good!! What's the plan? Pete
that would be so funny, wheeler rod. but yeah, it had no trunk lid and yes the tops of the doors are gone, looking for some if sombody has some. i think i can build a trunklid that wont look to bad if i cant find a original.
got more stuff for the coupe today. about 80 feet of 1x1 square tubing for reinforcing the body, about 60 feet of 1x3 for the floor structure and picked up a set of baby moons, 2 fronts, 15x7 with 6.00-15 bias and 2 rears, 15x8 with q78-15 firestones. found the wheels and tires at a local used tire and battery shop for 40 bucks. get some pics tomorrow of the stuff.
got somemore stuff for the coupe, picked up a old 390 ford that runs great, a set of cal-custom valve covers for it and a maroso deep oil pan. and a c6 auto and a 68 ford f100 9" rearend (would like to know if this is going to be too wide) with 3.50 gears. i also have done a bunch of research on building a frame and the past week built one. it looks very simular to the-antidote one. it came out pretty good, it has a 106" wheel base and has a 6" kickup in the rear, started with a 20' stick of 2x4 120. wall steel and some 2x2 steel. also got a 39 ford front axle with axle, splindles, brakes drums and spring for 75 bucks. also just picked up a set of old chrome split wishbones for it too. let me know what you guys think.
so i got my frame rolling, used a 68 ford f100 rearend and did kind of a split wisbone ladder bar setup, i think it will work ok. also got a dropped m-a axle for it. finaly found some door tops and got those fitted, it getting there. hopefully have it running this summer. that would be sweet.
Nice score, I paid 2K for mine but it was complete, got about $700 back in selling off parts but took alot of patch panels and wood in the top. It did have a ***le though.
looks like a great start to your project....still collecting parts for mine. keep posting, i'm looking forward to seeing progress mike
her are some update pics, got a 48 flatty for it that i heard run before i pulled it out of the 48 pickup, got it for 350. also made a adapter for it so i could put a gm saginah 4 speed behind it. its come a ways in the year i have oned it.
