Thanks for sharing. One of George last year at Winfield & Watson Gathering in front of my wife's '50 Chevy PU. Anyone got one of Ed at his last show at Mooneyes in 2000? Was there, but I did not get a pic of him.
This is my George Barris Story. It is a true story, it really happened, I to this day think Evel was the guy that snitched on me, anyway.. I once put the "likeness" of George Baris on one our Cheaterama flyers.... Told people it was the 3rd Barris brother, "***o Barris" & that they could meet him at our show, that he invented the forbiddin art of hammer welding JB Weld. I even promoted it here on the HAMB, you can look up the posts, they were kinda funny. Well as luck would have it, I got a series (4 calls all together over a period of 3 months)of phone calls from some chic (maybe it was his daughter) that said she was legal representation for George Barris & that I must cease the promoting of this "likeness" & that it was illegal for our club to benefit from using George's likeness! I joked with her that it was clearly his black sheep brother "***o" (it was the pic of George in front of the Super Van, sooo Amazing!) & that all our shows proceeds went to charity & if she wanted to sue me to send it in the mail. I went on to explain that there parodies of famous people in the newspapers & magazines published everyday, that I didn't think what we did was wrong & all that ****, it was funny (she did NOT think so) & I told her the flyers were already in circulation & there was nothing I could do about it, I offered her the phone number to the charity we donate the money to if she wanted to collect it from them, never heard from her again. It's kinda rad, George Barris had someone call my house! That is a true story, Sincerely, Cheatercarl
