Ive got a 60 Chevy Kingswood wagon bought and would like to know some ideas on putting disc brakes on the front and lowering. I know CPP has kits and joints like that. But just wanting to hear some guys opinions and ways they have done this theirself. Maybe some links. Thanks alot.

I ended up using jeg's power disc brake kit on my wagon. Went in pretty easily (from what I remember) and comes with everything you need. The price is good too. It's worked good on the wagon, and I've driven it on a couple of 8 hour trips one way. I've got the stock spindles, if your going with a drop I don't know if it will work.

Just went through this with a 59 Elky I'm doing.

Searched on EBay and found a complete rebuild kit for the front end, ball joints, tierods, control arm bushings, etc for 335.00. Bought it as it was much cheaper than buying each piece locally.

Bought a disk brake kit with crossdrilled, slotted and coated rotors, GM calipers, late model tapered roller bearings, master cylinder, booster, distribution valve and mounting kit. This kit also included 2" forged dropped spindles, a chrome upgrade kit and free shipping for 780.00. Didn't need the bling, but with free shipping, the bling only cost me like 33.00.

See below for what is available today:

yeah the CPP stuff looks very complete. I know it can be done cheaper but probably consume more time looking for odds and ends. Im looking for a similar kit for a 55.

Impala Bob's and Eckler's (and other places) have disc brake brackets to use common GM calipers and rotors if yer on a tight budget....

These cars are 5x5 bolt pattern correct? I can do the same thing I did on my c10s if they are for rear disc.

5 on 4 3/4.....unless a Kingswood is different than a Brookwood, which I wouldn't think it would be...

I went with that kit because it was complete.
All of the components would be compatable (master cylinder/booster to calipers), the upgrade to the new style bearings, and the 2" dropped spindles all in one package.

Bolt Pattern should be 5 on 4 3/4". Good Luck with the Front Disc Conversion & Lowering.
