Just inherited a '63 C20 Chevy truck and am trying to figure out what engine is in it. Has an inline 6 in it, not sure if it is original though.

On the pad near the distributor is F012OPC

Block casting is 3921968, with GM 56 under it. Left of that is CON2 and L138.

Front of the head is 2F 2084 and rear of the head has 2088.

Thanks for any help. Just need a year and engine type for teh parts guys at the store.

From researching, seems it could be a 1965 230, but not sure if the info was reliable or ???

It is either a 230, which is correct for the model year, or no larger than a 250, if the original was replaced with a later engine. It COULD have been a 292, but it is not, as evidenced by the height of the side covers. The 292 side covers are about half again as tall as those pictured.
