4.3 conversion

Listen up, i have a chev 4.3 TBI w/external mounted coil . now how do I convert this to run a carb? The carb part I can fab an adapter plate for a 2 bbl. The problem is the dist. Can it be modified? One plug runs to the coil (2wires) and the other plug(4wires) goes into a really big nasty harness, I guess to the computer, which I want to s--- can anyway. Any help would appreciated!

 

Edelbrock has an intake for the 4.3.

 

get an HEI with thebuilt in coil from an 85
Astro van, replace the module with a 5 pin from a late 70s 350

 

To bad your in FL, I have a complete 4.3 carbed motor, just sitting. Would trade is for a couple 6 packs

 

Do like I did. Contact GMC Bubba here on the HAMB he will supply you with a HEI external coil dist. Go to a Boat place and get a 4 brl manifold for your 4.3. If it is a vortec motor the intake has 8 bolts . The dist is a V8 housing with 6cyl cap gmcbubba's set up is great. The intake is off a Mercruser 4.3. again make sure what manifold you need. I paid $170.00 for the intake.
