Yea, that was my initial thought as well. But, if i cleared the copper, I dont have any other copper on the truck so I thought it would be out of place.. and if i didnt clear it I wouldnt want the green patina copper creates in the enviorment.

Boy is it waaaay too early for me. When I saw "Homemade Grille", I thought, "Oh, he built himself a hot rod barbeque." Ooooops!.

That is some nice work you did right there. I have a ways to go before my fab skills are that good.

That's exactly what I was thinking.:)
Nice job. I was a little concerned as to how it would look from the first picture, but it looks great finished. Will be looking forward to seeing it on the truck.

I am a huge fan of home built parts. Looks good.

The guy asking about the squares on the bed..... a local 48 with a knox box is made from 1/8" "not diamond plate" but has raised squares pattern instead.

i read an article like yours and get mad all over about the stigma that seems to be attached to the term "homebuilt"---that grille is pure genius. that's what it's all about. 2cool

Thats sweet! I like your creativeness. The cooler idea would be pretty *****in too, only downfall would be trying to fix a repair, guess thats part of it though. Can't wait to see more pics of the truck. Good job!

That would have made a decent entry for tech week. Nice job using a little different materiel. Don't see copper used much in hot rod fabrication.

Ollin, thanks for the post! you posted during the weekend, I take it you didnt go to Viva!?

Well when the funds are scarce, thats when imagination REALLY kicks in, thanks for the kind words.

Trying to get the build pics of the truck within the next couple of months when the project is a little further along, thanks.
