1950 Shoebox headlight switch terminal ID Please!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by holliwood, Apr 2, 2010.

  1. I'm trying to rewire my original headlight switch in my '50 Shoebox to my new EZ wiring harness, but I forgot which terminal is which. Can someone please help me identify them?

Also; I took the circuit breaker off the switch, bc it was messed up. Will it still work properly, or will it burn up without it?

I have a 49-51 service manual I'm looking at, looks like , as per your pic, upper left is tail and instrument .Lower left, says ignition lite and park lite. lower center goes to breaker. lower right goes to dimmer switch. Upper right also goes to breaker. the wires leave from breaker, to charge indicater to starter relay.

Me again, the upper right appears to be acually breakered the lower center receives constant power. You should be able to get an in line breaker at a good parts outlet. I would use one, (lots of amps there).
