Last night was one of those nights. I had the body work done, and looks great. I prepped it and shot the primer on it. That went great and the body looked great. I waited an hour to let the primer flash. I hit the primer with some 600 and wiped her done again. I start shooting paint at 1:00 A.M. Thats probably where I screwed up....but I was excited. My gun started giving me ****, then my compressor, it was thinning and blotching. Then I ran out of paint after second coat. I woke up this morning just to see some lights spots and streaks. I guess I am going to sand it again and try to scrounge up cash for more paint this week. It looks like hammered **** and I am bummed!
Man that ****s,ant time I work on my car after midnight I also seem to loose my patience/have equipment issues, and manage to majorly screw something up as well, good luck on the second go round.
Scuff and spray it again. The week I planned to spray my truck it was in the 70s so I bought 70° reducer. The day I went to spray it the temp climbed into the 90s. Don't use 70° reducer if it's in the 90s. The paint dried almost instantly and didn't have any time to level out. The finish was like 180 grit sand paper. I'd rather scuff smooth thin paint than sand rough thick paint.
