Going to use a Wilwood hanging pedal in my fiberglass 32 with 2” recessed firewall.

Your going to need to brace everything up REALLY good. You will be shocked how much foot pressure it takes. If the mount is not built strong, it will move around. Been there. Is it a reverse mount (master cylinders over your feet) or thru the firewall? Either way, just clamp it to your workbench and run the pedals thru their stroke. Then you will know how much clearance you need.

Pete, along with the above, the car's got to be comfortable to drive. So you have to mock up your steering column, gas pedal and your actual seating position and then locate the brake pedal where it looks and feels good to see if you CAN mount it there. Those aluminum Wilwood pedals are not a heat and tweak deal like the steel pedal arms most of us use. I hope it works out in your favor.

The aluminum pedal arms can be heated and bent, as long as one is careful with the torch. Been there & did it to mine in a 26 T touring. The biggest issue I found was making the mounting brackets, so it can be removed if needed.I used a large piece of 3/4" plywood for the firewall support & when the mounting brackets are tied to the steering column it works great. No flex.
