I have a 36 Ford complete front axle with the wide 5 setup. I'm looking to swap out to juice brakes with 5 on 5 1/2 lug pattern. Can the 36 spindle's be used or do I need to swap them out. What other parts are needed for this swap? Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

I am new to this to. I also have a 36 axle. but I have 39 spindles and juice backing plates. I think you need to change from the spindles out.

  3. You need a kit that costs under $20 and contains 2 metal rings to fit the 36 spindles to the 39 backing plates and 2 metal spacers to adapt the inner bearing in the 39 hubs to the 36 spindles. You will also need to weld up the mounting holes in the backing plates and re-drill them to the smaller bolt circle on the 36 spindle. I have these spindles with juice brakes on my A bone. The kit is avail from Speedway, some say the metal rings are Model A piston rings and the bearing spacers are model A valve seats.

Or make it easy on yourself and get newer spindles.
    1937-48 then it's all a bolt on.
