I think im just gonna throw on a visor, some skirts, lowerer it, and roll it for a while.. I want to up grade to a 12 volt, and keep a 6 in her... Probably a newer 6 though.. Eventually i would like to put a fresh coat of some candy paint, and the whole nine, but uno $$$$$$ is always a issue!
That picture of it in the rain makes me wonder if that paint can't be saved. Some guys would kill for a patina like that.
I guess the paint was brought back to life once before!! I do want to keep it that way for a while, but that will get old after a while and then i'll have too change it up...
Sweet, I do like bombs, looks like you've got a lot of accessory shopping to do! Would look nice with some Fleetline fender trims on it. The two tone one is my favorite, I had a '46 I wanted to pattern after it but I had to sell, too many projects. Good luck with yours.
If you ever decide to go crazy and repower it look into a 292. Mucho torque and reliable.....................just ask Bob K. Frank
These are look i love... Simple and elegent!!! Its gonna take a while but it will happen!!! I've always had a love for a nice lookin ol skool lowrider! They can fit in at about any kind of show... The line are like a nice figured woman...
That's what I wanted to do for my bomb. Nice start to a cool bomb by the way...... and I do know a thing or two about bombs.
I just like the fact that its un-touched... un-molested... Noones elses hack job to try in correct.. I just hope that the funds dont fall to short... The wife love this one, so that help..
Well a little up date... Ive not had a lot of time but its still in progress! Last night i shined the thing up.. Amazeing what a little scoure pad will do to a old oxidized paint job.. It has a little shine too her... I just landed a 61 apache that has a great runnin 292, so im considering puttin that in her... Im not sue i want to tear the truck apart tho cause its not in bad shape either! Anyways, i hope to have some new pics up soon of the shine and the new wide whites mounted..
I thought '61 still used the Stovebolt series of engines, is the 292 in there a transplant? Maybe it's a 261? That'd be a really good engine to swap into your Chevy, it'll bolt up a lot easier and they have full pressure lubrication. Although a '61 Apache is a cool truck too, almost a shame to part it out if it's decent. Got pics of the motor? Now I'm curious.
I was told thats what it was (292) Ive yet to do any real research on the thing... All i know is it runs like a champ and i drove it 45 minutes home with out a catch.. Its a 3/4 ton long bed with a 4 on the floor if that helps.. Its got about a foot of snow on it now, but i will get some pics of it later..
