  2. I think this is the car I saw run at the old Dickinson, TX track way back when I was in short pants. I'd have been about eight years old, we used to watch the races from the roof of Grandpa's 440 powered 1973 Executive motorhome, red-white-and-blue, of course .

That place looks incredibly cool, I'd love to spend a day there taking it all in in person. Too bad its all the way on the other side of the country. The interior on the Mr. Chevy '55 is awesome!! Thanks for taking time to post all those pics.

Museums are all cool and everything....there is a place for them ~to be sure...but gosh, after awhile, ya just gotta get in some of your own and create your own memories! Kinda like going to a strip bar, ya know?.....you can "peeky-see" for awhile....but then ya just gotta go touch 'um and experience for yourself! Hard to do that in a Museum. 'Course, I feel alot like that going to a car show. too...1st '40 Ford, or Willys, or Anglia is awesome.....but after the 45th in a row.....they all begin to blend together....and ya just gotta leave and go drive or race your own! But I'll be right back there again come the next show.......guess that makes me an true addict! But I taint going to no dryout clinic...and you can't force me either!

It has really expanded since my visit in the 90's. Is the Mooneyham Sharp 554 coupe still there? That was one of my favorite cars to watch run. It looks like I need to visit again.

Man that was great! I visited there in '07 and those pics really make it seem like yesterday. One thing I noticed was that Snake's "Wynns Winder" T/F car seemed to be missing. When I was there it sat right beside Kallita's and Robinson's dragsters, but there seems to be an empty spot there now. I video'd the whole tour and I think now is a good time to dig it out and watch it again.

  25. Thanks for the great set of photos from one of my favorite places on the planet, espically the ones of Swamp Rat #33.
