Has your motor been changed? Might need more info. My P9 has the Swedish 2 sp 440 volt motor. High speed is 6 hp and 8.7 amps. A 6 hp 220 motor will pull twice the amps. I'm running mine thru a step up transformer. It's on a 220 volt 20 amp breaker.

IIRC mine runs on a 10hp converter (rotary). Factory 2 speed motor. Low speed wasn't a problem with a lesser converter but startign directly on HIGH SPEED was an issue.

If you call me at the shop, I will look at my P9. Is it the original motor?
How about pictures of what you have, to help compare?
    What year is yours?

If you call Stan Fulton at Fulton metal works I think he will be able to help you out. He refurbishes and sells Pullmax machines and tooling (217) 476-8223

With a frequency drive, you'll be able to change the speed.
