Anybody have any parts, or complete body,s stripped by RediStrip system? If so what is your opinion of this system? When you painted car did you have problems down the road , such as adhesion or blistering? Thank you Bud.

My buddy chem stipped his 33 sedan. Its really hard to get all the chemical out of seams and hidden areas. The car showed this after a year. If he had to do it again, hed media blast.Plus, you dont have to take the car apart as much, you can leave the wood in it, etc.

Stay away from ready strip. Tried in he past, only had problems due to the bleeding of the chemical in the seems. Had to strip and repaint two cars and still had paint flaking off 1 - 2 years later. Strip the paint and media blast to clean up. Epoxy primer and away you go.

i've had good luck with things that don't have seams... had a couple fenders stripped and they were fine and well worth it.
now, anything with seams... like a body... notsomuch. had nothing but headaches with the two bodies i had dipped, from seeping at seams.

media blast from here on out, for me...

its been a long while but to my recollection, redistrip was an electrolisis (spelling)process .not a chemical acid dip.

  6. Yes redi strip is an electrolytic process using an electric current. Kinda like plating but it plates off the iron oxide. I've had some parts done and it does leave just the rust free steel, maybe swiss cheese, but it is steel. And yes it can be a problem getting the acids out of the seams.
