So I have a '56 Chevy 235 in my '53 with a 2 speed powerglide and power steering. It looks like I have developed a power steering leak. I haven't been able to figure out exactly where it's leaking from, but it seems like it might be coming from just under the reservoir. I would say that it drips maybe once every 30-60 seconds, and only leaks when the car is running (pressurizing the system). I will be driving the car to the Roundup from Houston (180 miles), and I am wondering if this will be a problem? My guess is that it won't be a problem as long as I keep refilling it when I stop for gas. Is there any chance I could lose complete system pressure during the drive? I had heard these power steering units were prone to leaking. Thoughts?

If you lose the power ***ist, you will still be able to steer, but it will obviously be much more difficult.

Ya I figured that the worst that would happen is that I lose power steering. While that's a *****, it's still drivable obviously. Not ideal, but not a show stopper in my mind.
