Picked up a '57 Dodge Hemi 325 cid out of a truck. Would like to put it in my '32 Plymouth 5 window but was wondering if anyone knows if any aftermarket manifolds were ever made for this engine. Wouldn't mind putting a multiple carb manifold (2x2, 3x2, 4x2, etc.) or possibly a blower setup on it. Does anybody know of any ever made? Or can I swap out the heads so I can run such a manifold. I've got a blower manifold for a 392 but the bolt pattern is different. I'm not a "Hemi" person, as you can probably tell, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Performance Automotive Warehouse makes a complete Early Hemi catalogue. I have their standard catalogue and if 59BuickWagon is correct and the 315 intake fits the 325 hemi, it's available there. Also, don't discount fabricating your own log manifold. That's been done since way back.
We are almost finished with 8 stack EFI for your hemi. We also have 8 stacks on a 6-71 or 8-71 available.Pic is of Chrysler, Dodge looks the same. Gemini EFI
I have a 3x2 offenhauser set up with 3 webers. Came with a 325 I bought and I am not going to use it. It has never been used, but is ready to go.
as pointed out www.hothemiheads.com I have a new 2x4bbl from Offy for my 315 (going to use 390 holleys) and plenty of dress up etc from hot heads. So far the only thing I havent been able to find is a new cam, so I will have mine re-ground and shortened to suit hot heads timing cover.
You can get just about everything that you need at Hotheads.com. Bob does a good job on all the early hemi's. A friend of mine is building a blower 325 tall deck Dodge motor. I don't know where he got the blower manifold, but if he got one, they are available. Check Hotheads. Bill in Iowa
As for carbs, I'm using a pair of baby AFB's, from a mid 60's Hi Performance 273. They are under 400 cfm. The Holleys need an adaptor from Hotheads to mount them. They space out the Holley for the Offenhauser dual quad manifold. Bill in Iowa
If your engine was original to the truck from which it was removed, it is probably a 315, as 325's were not installed in trucks. There is an ID letter/number code on the front top of the block. It is between the valley cover edge and the back of the water pump. Post it here, or do a search for the codes, and it can be identified accurately. I have one of these engines and whether or not it is 315 or 325 is of little consequence....they are really great little engines. The primary difference in a truck 315 and a car 325 will be compression ratio and carburetion (2 bbl vs 4 bbl). Ray
