just wondering if anyone is going to this, or have gone in the past, seems like an expensive show but MAY be worth it!!

march, 24-27, 2005, $65.00 per person, for the whole weekend

If you want cheap sleeping for you and the wife, within walking distance of the Gold Coast all I can say is stay with somebody and share the cost of their room! Otherwise you wont find a room anywhere in Vegas within a 10 mile radius! They say it's one of the biggest weekends Vegas has all year...other weekend is transves***es---dont ask how I know [IMG]

the car show is free the rest like the bulesque show and conserts are what you are paying for. the shifters car show is on sunday but its a party on the top of the garage the whole weekend. i drove my car last year for the first time not very far but it was a blast since most vegas car shows are billet rods not many traditonal or rat rods around these here parts.

Save ya money and go to Hemsby uk in may is my 2c.Ok you can't always guess the weather but it's the original and the best musically and atmospherically with loads of cars and normally an unofficial beach gathering.Combine it with a holiday and you off it's great, get outa the country a while why not.........Marq

  14. i'm gonna try to make it up there, not to sure if i'm takin my truck or not but i hope i can, and for a room i'm sleepin in my ride hehe

  15. Been to all but the first, over 500 cars last year. The show is however officially on Saturday. Really starts as soon as enough cars show up which is generally Wed evening or Thurs morning.

For a room try TERRIBLES, it's also on Flamingo Blvd but on the other side of the strip. Not sure I'd call it walking distance unless that is another hobby. [IMG]......JW.

They just started the tram so I think if you get something near it's route you can jump it for free

    uhhh, the tram.

it was shut down for months and just reopened on friday.

an employee opened a door on it when it was full of people and it wasn't at the 'station', nobody fell out. then one of the wheels fell off, again, nobody hurt. can't wait to see what's next...

try calling travelocity or another travel agency. they always have rooms set aside for the late travelers and you can get them at a cheap price usually. The NFR usually sells out Vegas during December and there always seems to be extra rooms that pop up. There are alot of little motels off the strip that will definatley have rooms. Beleive me there are plenty of rooms in Vegas just not enough parking. It you aint got a room booked dont worry you will definatley get one when you get there. Gold Coast is great place to gamble but it is definatley one of the lower end hotels.

The Gold Coast is always booked a year in adavanced though. The show is Saturday until about 4pm, but there is always cars there from Wednesday til Monday, so you can walk around and check them out. Last year the Shifters said if it didnt look traditional it didnt get in. I parked my car when I got to Vegas last year and left it there all weekend. I'm staying at the Orleans, they offer a free ride to and fro. Hemsby is a good show, I went in October (promised May will be better), but it's a bucket load of money! If you want to see the bands I suggest you buy your bracelets early...****s paying $90 a person! There is always something happening on the top of the parking garage as well, bands playing, people cruising up and down and such is my luck, piling as many people as you can onto a ******* Chev while singing at the top of your lungs [IMG]

You can stay cheap at Wild Wild West (with the toothless ho's) on Tropicana, or there is also a Budget Suites on Trop too... you can cram lots of folks into one of those rooms. From the Budget Suites you can walk a block to the Orleans then take their shuttle to the Gold Coast, or just grab a cab.
