  1. Not exactly 'rods' or 'customs', but they certainly weren't laughed at.

Somebody please build one of these!

Hey-ya Gwhite: I did the best I could to build one, with what I had available to me.
So here's mine, out on the salt last year. She's got suicide doors, and a 460ci. Powerplant.

Dave, I went the way of jamco. 2" drop springs out back and 2" lower coils in front.

The springs in back are nice but didn't give me any drop over my saggy original springs. I am glad I got them as they tightened the ride a bunch. Added 3" lower blocks to get it down.

2" coils are nice as well, but on the cheap you could just as easily cut a coil or so and get the same look. I was worried about the tires touching, as I'm running 710's, but no problem.

It's a inliner 6 w/ od trans. It just runs to good to mess with it. I do have some barker highlift rockers and a offy 2 pot intake ready when/if I rebuild the engine.

Need to do some work on the drip edge so I can paint the roof. Previous pict is a photoshop plan as noted. Current below.

    Here's my more-door :) I love 4 door cars. I don't see why they get such a bad rap.

i'd like a bigger fordor than my 32....huson,chrysler,merc,lincoln 40s era type

  25. Not every old car nut has the money for a decent 2 door. I've owned tons of old four doors, and it beats driving the astro van to work. I like seeing ANY old car out on the road, and if that means a guy drives a four door so he can enjoy the experience, I'm happy for the guy.

  26. I remember this concept and thought it was very cool.-I never thought of fat four doors much until I saw this. Now when I see old 4 doors-I get a whole different perspective of the possibilities with these cars.
Stance is key-Get 'em on their belly!!

  27. Here's a couple pics of my old girl(also in the classifieds) These cars make great everyday drivers and there is literally a ton of cheap parts available for them.
I gaurantee your kids and wife could care less how many doors are on it when they all pile in and go to little league, soccer, or whatever.
Their friends (and yours) that don't know jack about cars will like 'em too!
Little old ladies still give you the thumbs up and about any time you stop for gas(which ain't that often with a 20 gallon tank) somebody comes up and says "nice car" or "I had one of those years ago" or something to that effect.
Four Doors aren't HOTRODS-But they make "Damn Fine Cruisers"
