The clocks went forward, the days are finally getting longer, and I'm starting to see more old cars out on the road again... I love Spring! This used to be the season when I would start the "Paso Thrash", preparing some poor car of mine for the yearl...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
happy days indeed. just got all the bumper pieces back from plating for my 61 coupe deville, up next is a tube griil, shave the handles and mirror, nose and deck with a different taillight treatment and maybe some fades or scallops. it's on baby!
Spring is trying to, er...spring here too, but we've had snow this week and it is still ****** cold. Hey ho! I'm shoving a V8 in to my T Touring where there was once a four-banger, hoping to get it to at least one of our drag meets this year. We'll see, eh?
Whoa that little Deuce/pic/kid is awesome!!! I got my Merc on the road for the summer after a new engine and T5 swap. I clay bared the **** out of it and waxed last weekend and now it's as good as it's going to get. Still plugging away at my '35 coupe too. Legend has it that the motor will be done next week and so I can get started putting it back together.
Hoping to finish the floor in my pickup this weekend. Really hoping to have the old girl in paint by my wedding in October. Starting to seriously consider pulling the flathead in favor of another mill...but that might be next year's h***le
I had the coupe out last night, went to dinner. Punching louvers in the hood sides, pulling the front gl*** out, replacing fuel lines, repairing the latch on the p*** door, fixing the glove box door, greese on everything, chasing rattles and getting her ready for our trip to LA Roadsters in June....if you see us there say hi. BTW, I love that Bernadino Bros. Roadster, such a cool car with a great history....my son Chris introduced me to Jeano a few years back, what a great guy!
Easter Sunday the wife is taking the boys to granny's house while my buddies and I start the wiring on the '52 - Hope it's on the road for Santa Maria! - Joe Man Paul - your '27 is so perfect.
Last year I drove the late model to Bonneville and swore to myself "next year I'm driving the roadster". August is coming faster than I want to think about.
Spring has sprung....The wife's 37 is in shakedown mode now. We got out last Saturday afternoon. This is our favorite time of the year. Maybe we can drive it more this weekend. Thanks to Gator and Danny G for their help last winter....
I have had my roadster out a couple of times in the past month, kind of shake down runs. Now its time for cruising!
The guy thawt owns the building where my '32 and the wife's '37 are stored is back from Florida so it's time to retrieve them and check everything over for the summer. Temps just cracked over the 50 degree mark yesterday. Frank
I've hit one cruise-in and one show so far this spring....also been trying to find another HAMB appropriate car to bring home.
Pasadena Roadster Club Relability Run is coming up on May 1st. Anyone who has a traditional roadster in cali. should definitely go.
The Tom Orren Roadster(Waco Kid) has been invited and will be making an appearance out there for that. It's dialed and ready. Can't wait but first we gotta make it thru the Round Up next week. Spring is definately here in Austin Texas.
Stuff it. Getting cold here. Clocks go back tomorrow night. Think I'll come over and enjoy your summer as well this year
Off work at noon today (Good Friday) and taking a car up north just to get out on the road a little. May even be able to put the top down, as it's getting pretty nice out.
Last night was yard work. Tonight work on the kitchen sink and replace the ring on the disposal and the basket strainer. Saturday evening after I leave job 2 (back to the H-D dealer on weekends) it's off to the shop and work on the frame swap on the Buick again. With any luck the body mounting will be complete by midnight. Waiting for a vacation check so I can get tires for the Pontiac and pull the eight lug drums off and go back to the cast iron drums and five lug wheels. The Torque Thrust D's i bought last year are going on it. With any luck I can get the Buick's frame sandblasted in the next week or two and start the suspension and brake rebuild. Then remount the body. Interspaced with the yard work and installing a hardwood floor in the spare bedroom.
This topic made me think of my favorite Hot Rod magazine cover. Although we never see snow here, this cover remains an inspiration.
