I've seen a picture elsewhere on the forum of a Ford SOHC FE V-12 Cammer and I was wondering if that motor does exist?? Could use some info on it also.... And more pictures!! Thanks guys!
That's the one! I was never able to find any info on that beast. Or any other pictures of it. Thanks for posting the picture of it!
Yeah, it does. Look at the exhaust pipes. The two 'long" ones are identical at the top in the bends, pixel for pixel. It's fake.
If memory serves, the guy who did the Photoshop work on it is a member of the FE forum and clearly stated that it was fake when he posted it....just for fun...still received a lot of **** about it, though.
It clearly has 2 engine mounts on the visible side. The idea is cool though. 641 inches would be sweet!! Would have been around 980hp ***uming the "rated" power was 657 hp with dual carbs. 657hp / 427in x 641in = 986hp. And we all know how accuratly they rated engines back then.
There were so many great concept motors built in the 60's. I remember more than one cover of Hot Rod showcasing a half dozen or so very interesting designs. VERY interesting. I think one may have been all Pontiacs. Cammers/Hemis....
-The Corvair division supposedly toyed around with making a flat-10, as a musclecar upgrade from the flat-six. Doc.
This one's real... Prototype flat 16 Porsche, built in 1969 or 70 when Porsche was still trying to figure out how they were gonna kick everyones *** in the Can-Am series... Mark Donohue drove the car this was in, and he said it was so long, you could hear one end of the engine fire up before the other!
