The memories of the Milk man are unknown by so many, too bad! Great Truck you have! We are collecting photos and stories on these old Milk trucks.
It looks to cool. You are goin to get so many chicks with that thing I would dub it the **** man truck.
Milk truck? Just more new fangled ****. When I was a kid, the milkman "drove" a horse powered delivery wagon. I say "drove" because half the time he was not in it, the horse would walk down the street while he made deliveries along the way. Very interesting to watch. Oh yeah, nice looking Divco. How do you drive those things while standing? Bill
My wifes dad drove one of those for Blue Bunny in Iowa, so the standing joke in her family was that her dad WAS the milk man. When I was a kid the "milk delivery" was standing outside the barn every morning about six, self serve.
my old man drove a truck like this for a bakery. that's right kids, the milkman and the bakery man came to your house in the 50's
We had one a couple of few years ago, used it for some catering we were doing in Baltimore, some 30 years ago. Wish I still had it. Cloverland dairy used to be right across the street from my house as a youngster.
Nice truck I remember them well coming about every other day with quarts of milk with rich cream under the paper cap. We used to get in trouble if we didn't mix in the cream. I go to a couple rod runs in Pa. and always see a couple of old Divco's. One of them has some racks inside with the old milk bottles with white pellets. Sure brings back memories. I still think there are a couple floating around my area, one was seriously street rodded.
Neat... hope to see it one day, either at Daytona or perhaps here at NSRA Tampa? Pix of the inside? Later, Gary
