I have a deluxe 1927 Ford roadster body from Speedway Motors. Any suggestions on how long the steering column should be? Thanks.

  2. I would get it to a roller with the steering box in and body bolted down then get the seat where you want it and use a piece of dowel to figure the length you need. The steering column is one of the last things during mock-up.

I just went through this same phase of my build and 100% agree with oldschool66. Anything else is just guessing.

Once the floor and seat is in with the height of any seat foam on it, put your steering wheel in hand where it feels comfortable and have someone measure how long.

If your legs are longer than your arms. I found I had to also guage getting in and out of my '27.
