Ok fellas, I'm getting a '37 chevy coupe soon but wanted to drive it before I start tearing it apart. I'd like to get a frame and modify it to work with the car, so that when I get the car I can just drop
the body on. Anyone know of a frame that would work? I'm not even sure of the wheelbase or width is so all that would help
    please pm me.
    Thanks
    Ryan

Not sure what you're asking. Does your coupe not have a frame now? If it does, use it. Those frames are already boxed, in that they have a cross section like a top hat with a flat plate rivited across the bottom of the top hat. Ch***is Engineering, someplace out in the midwest has a bunch of bolt-in front and rear suspension upgrades for those.

    Hope this helps, *****6

I agree, I have a 39 Business coupe and wouldnt trade the frame for anything. Well built. With the boxed frame feature from the factory less problems with rusting out too. Ch***is Engineering is my first call. The second was the former Butchs rod shop. I think its now called butches cool stuff.

ok thanks guys. it has a frame with it, yes. but i was worried about the brakes and all of the components on it being shot. so i was going to do something more modern and box it, put discs on it and get it ready before the car got here. but if the frames that good, i can just get it blasted and paint it, change out the suspension and update what is needed. im going to have to modify the engine and ****** mounts for a small block as well. i just didnt know if i could do an easy swap, like guys do with chevy p/u and s-10 frames etc

Please, I beg you, no small blocks. Put a turbo 292 Chevy 6 in it or a Vortec 5 cyl , ANYTHING BUT A SMALL BLOCK !! Unless its an LS9

I'm supposed to get a whole '37 parts car in a week or so, I'd sell you the stock frame from it pretty cheap if you want to cut that one up and hotrod it while driving the car on it's stock frame. The car is a sedan but the frames should be the same I think.

A Friend of mine has a 36 chevy with a 392 Hemi, 4sp. Very cool cars. Build the frame you have and put a Hemi in it.

Well I was planning on a 365 small block Cadi engine. But no turbos, gonna be a taildragger. And I'll have to call ch***is engineering and order parts.
