I'm Pete, nickname is smiffy(British slang for Smith) and I'm 6'4", so that's were my username comes from.

I love old cars, trucks, vans, anything mechanical and old. Old and quirky is even better. I like to have rides that are little unusual.

I'm just got a 63 GMC Step Van, 1 ton, it's about to get a Mercedes 3 litre diesel and a four speed to replace the 6cyl chevy. An intercooler should give it enough urge to make it driveable. It's main purpose will to get me and my scuba gear to various dive sites around southern Ontario. I dive year round, so having a heated change room will be pretty neat.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I'm keen on the Mercedes diesel for a couple of reasons, 1st, I already own it (actually, I have 2 of them), I have an intercooler I can add to it, 2nd, I just want something that'll move it along cheaply and reliably.

Howdy, I visit Innisfil quite often for a scuba dive at Big Bay Point. I'm in Haliburton.

you and another guy on here both show the same truck with the same plate both claim to have just bought it. Who really bought the van? The other guy goes by THE HITCH HIKER. Found the answer the other guy turns out to be your son.

Yeah, my son spotted the truck, made me turn the car around to go see it. I actually bought the truck, as in handed over the single red note. But it's our truck, looking forward to a father & son resto.:)
